Ibanez Super 70's pickups I love these pickups but I really dig the Super 70 pickups but they are squealing like crazy with any Dating maxon pickups of gain or volume. I was thinking of wax potting them but they originally never were wax potted, so this may alter the tone.
I don't know for sure. What I do know about these pickup's is they sound fantastic minus the feedback. These are humbuckers with alnico 8 magnets and originally had metal covers. What I would like to know is if I put the metal covers back on, would Dating maxon pickups cut down on the microphonics?
Right now I can barely use Dating the Sagas: Reviews and Revisions Google Livres guitar at bedroom volume without it squealing. Or would it be best to try and wax pot these? The guitar they are on now is a Ibanez Les Paul. Don't have much advice for you but those were maxon made mzxon.
I have some maxon pickups in my greco's and they Dating maxon pickups are great pickups. Hopefully you can get them to where you want. Try turning down the gain. They were probably removed because the pickups started to go microphonic in the first pickupa. If you pot the pickups you will kill the squeal and lose perhaps just a little high end but also lose the nice tactile feel of the pickup as it becomes more microphonic.

I've spent a long couple of nights trying to identify these pickups properly (as well as the guitar they came out of) and from what I've read about dating Maxon. Ibanez and Greco Nisshin Onpa (Maxon) pickup serial number format consisting of 5 numbers up to and including After opening it up, I discovered that it contained MAXON pickups that look like your typical PAF style, nickel covered humbuckers.
